Iphone 4 fail jailbreak

I have a iPhone 4 that the jailbreak failed on and after I replaced the screen the phone will not charge or be recognized by the cord on the computer. The phone will charge when turned off but not when it's on. Could this just be because of the jailbreak failing

No, the act of jailbreaking does not cause hardware issues

So what would be the cause of this then? The phone is stuck in safe mode and will not come out of it.
