We've had our iPhone 4 for over 2 years now and my wife dropped it in the toilet of all places which ultimately killed it. Anyway my question is if I resell it as a broken item will my data still be accessible on the phone by someone even tho the unit will not come on? If so are there steps to take to protect my things or should I just toss it in a drawer and forget about it? - John

Unfortunately... you have a $1,000,000 question there. While you may not be able to get the iPhone to do anything... someone w/ a bit more time on their hands and many more spare parts could possible be able to get the logic board working again w/ all new parts around it. While it's highly unlikely that someone would go through such great lengths to build an iPhone from scratch... I have seen it done before. So, anything that may be on the iPhone would be subject to viewing from whoever buys your iPhone. My suggestion, it may seem extreme, would be to open the iPhone and puncture the flash memory card on the logic board. Since you're selling the iPhone as "As Is/Parts Only"... there shouldn't be any issues with doing such. Here's where the flash memory is on the iPhone 4, the big Samsung chip... iPhone 4 Teardown - Page 3 - iFixit.
