iPhone 4 Spotlight help

Hey guys, I currently own a Sprint 3G IPhone 4 iOS 6.1.3 and I'm trying to use spotlight to search for old messages. It work great just one thing.. When I click on the searched message it doesn't take me to the message, rather, it takes me to the general conversation starting with the most recent message. I just want to access an old SMS message But I can't without scrolling up... Which is tedious.
