iPhone 4 touch screen response time

Hello, I've noticed that the touch screen response time in my iphone 4 is slower than usual as of late. Any ideas as to what this could be? I've always had a screen protector and it's never before affected the response time, so not sure what it could be. Thanks!

Try performing a hard reset and if that doesn't help, maybe a factory restore would help.
I would try removing the screen protector before I did a factory restore.
