iphone 4 will not sync to mac calendar

I installed ios 5 on my iphone 4 and updated the mac to 10.7 including icloud on both. Set up appears to be correct but events entered on the iphone calendar do not sync up to the mac calendar, but events entered on the mac do sync to the iphone?
