No, iOS 5.1 cannot be jailbroken on any idevice above A4, meaning the 4S, iPad 2 and New iPad CANNOT be jailbroken at all, not even a tethered. Plus, there wasn't a boot exploit, hardware exploit or iOS exploit that the dev-team could take advantage of.
