My friend from Canada was preordered iphone 4s from Apple (Canada) without contract. He is planning to use it in Europe. How and where he should activate it?

makes no difference where... Just plug it into itunes and it only takes a few seconds

Thank you for your answer. I've had already factory unlocked 3gs and I thought that shouldn't be problem to activate worldwide, but I was confused by one statement on Net recently that you have to activate iphone 4s on country where it's sold.

I think you might find this may apply to contract iPhones
