Yeah me too. My Case it pretty thick but can still feel the heat. I wonder what's up

Sounds normal to me. My iPhone 4, iOS ver 4.1, loses battery quite quickly when playing graphic-intensive games, but I don't feel any excessive heat. I'm not concerned about the battery life because I can always charge it back up!

My previous replacements always had a problems with the heat, but my current one is doing great- no noticable heat at all on this one.

My 4s gets hot also when playing graphic intensive games. Ex, Played Modern combat 3 yesterday for about 15 minutes and the phone got pretty hot and it was draining my battery horribly. My iPhone 4 could play it an not get hot nor kill the battery quickly.

So I bet it's. A hard ware issue instead of software!

Its probably just the faster dual core processor putting off more heat than the old slower one did. Hopefully 5.1 will fix it to last a little longer. Other than games my battery isn't too much worse than my 4 was that i could get 2 days out of.

Oh and when I'm not playing a heavy duty game I haven't noticed mine getting hot.

Any time you do something graphic and processor intensive the battery is going to drain quicker and the components are going to get hotter(just like a laptop would).

Yes it's normal.

Of course your iPhone is going to get hot you are putting added strain the CPU which in turn drains the battery more. It's that simple.

It's not a bug. You are seeing the very thing that was a selling point for some the better graphics. Play angry birds for awhile you will see that your battery doesn't move very much but now if u play a game like real racing with is graphic intensive watch your batter vanish right before your eyes. So more graphic intensive more better will be used. The heat you are feeling is the direct result of the maximum amount of electrons flowing thru the CPU and GPU. Friction doesn't care how tiny your electrons are
