iPhone 4S problems

Hi all,
After waiting in until about almost 1:30pm for my new iPhone 4S to arrive, I immediately switched the phone on after I phone my network to give the sim card number, went out for a while & hot back an hour ago expecting my 4S to be ready, but still says "No Service" I have been on the to find out what is going on? I was then transferred to someone from Apple who advised me to restore the iPhone due to there been issues with iOS5 still, so all in all I am Not impressed so far, so much for having 4S to use whilst I have No Service, oh this is a phone upgrade, I am still using my 3GS, was also told to turn my 4S off for 3 hours, so whether or Not this actually does anything is anyone's guess?

I'm in the same boat... I will try the three hour thing. Did that help you?

Update: I went online to activate it, and it referred me to the letter in the package. I called that number from another phone, put in my phone number, it said "do you agree...." I indicated yes, and it told me the phone was now activated, to shut it off and restart it in five minutes. I did that, and voila, it found the cell signal.
