Gizmodo reports that AT&T and Apple are replacing the 3G logo with a 4G logo on the iPhone 4S's status bar. AT&T say that they are "working together on this" with Apple since the iPhone 4S is capable of HSPA+ and 14.4MBps. Now this is a huge upgrade from the 7.2MBps the iPhone 4 can handel, no wonder AT&T want to show it's power. Although the 4S is capable of these speeds does not mean it will get them everywhere or even frequently. AT&T is in the process of rolling out their LTE netwrok for next year and this just seems like they are trying to throw in a segue.
Do you think this 4G facade will change customers minds of the iPhone 4S? or will it just be another marketing technique that didn't work out?
