Iphone 4s unlocking options

Hi folks,
Ive got an iPhone 4s which is locked to meteor Ireland, I purchased the phone from someone and want to unlock it. I am using an R-sim and it works with my vodafone Ireland Sim.
I would like to know if it is still possible to unlock the phone myself as a site quoted me €140.00 for a factory unlock.
My iphone 4s runs iOS6.0.1 and its baseband is 3.0.04
I have activated my r sim with a stock Meteor SIM card is got free.
Anyway of doing it, can i still back up activation tickets, use SAMs prefs, cookie etc.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

You cannot save SAM tickets as the backdoor has been closed for months if not years now. Factory unlocking a 4S will cost that amount as it's a world phone. The cheapest way to unlock it is to use an interposer, which is constraint to your baseband and/or iOS
