Iphone 4s w/ an updated IOS6 issue/s

Hello. I'm new on this site and was hoping that I could get help or assistance from everyone. I updated the software of my phone last 12th Sep thru my laptop. And this morning, when I played the music on my phone, it suddenly stopped and a gray screen appears. And i have to press the home button so i will be able to go back to my home screen. The same thing happens every time Im trying to open my FB, whatsapp, etc...
