Has this happened to anyone else? All of a sudden horizontal bars appeared uniformly spaced up and down the screen of my iPhone 5. I took it to the apple store where they told me it was not the screen, but something else in the device and the phone had to be replaced. It was 4 days out of warranty and I had to pay a significant price for the replacement. It seems to me, if it was not the screen, then whatever caused the bars was a prodcut malfunction and Apple should have a recall out on it. Any thoughts or comments?

See if a backup and restore will fix the issue. It may be a digitizer/screen issue ultimately, and is hard to diagnose unless you rule it out completely by taking the device apart.
