iPhone 5 LTE Data

I have recently upgraded to a 4G contract and have noticed i am using up data faster then usual. I had a plan of 500mb on 3G before switching to a new contract and i never went over that doing general browsing (twitter facebook general social stuff) i noticed i loaded one page on facebook with maybe 3-4 pictures and i went from using 57 mb to using 80... Is that normal or not, if its a silly question apologies but if not let me know as i am constantly checking and feeling paranoid. My current contract is 1.75 gig i just dont want to exceed that over the month! So basically do you use more data loading regular pages on 4G then you do on 3G? I understand streaming would but browsing...

I am using UK EE network and they dont do unlimited plans as they are tight and believe they are unnecessary.... Obviously dont know what they are talking about.
