There have been many rumors in the past period regarding Apple’s upcoming releases. One of the sources detailing such rumors about the apparent launch of the new iPhone 5 is DigiTimes, a Taiwanese tech site. Most voices speak of a greatly improved version of the model, with features such as an 8 megapixel camera instead of the current 5 megapixel one, larger 720p HD display, 1 GHz processor and slim metal casing. However, DigiTimes states that the new phone will only bring minor changes and updates from the current version. They are though confirming other rumors which have surfaced about the new model, such as the probable release date, which will be in September and also the fact that Apple has already ordered 15 million units of the iPhone 5.
Not only that, they go on to name Pegatron, a company in Shanghai, as the manufacturer of the model. Apparently, Pegatron has already started hiring personnel in order to cope with the production needs. If you are wondering why Apple is going through all this trouble to produce such a massive amount of units of the iPhone 5 and thus delaying the release date beyond their well known 12 month trend, the answer may come from the partial failure they encountered when releasing the iPad 2.
One may remember that the company had trouble in dealing with the huge demand for the tablet, and as such some of the possible clients chose to buy competitor products instead of waiting for the next shipment of iPad 2s.
