iPhone 5 owners without AppleCare+ can purchase the plan from the Apple retail stores

For those of you who purchased a brand new iPhone 5 but decided to go against AppleCare+, theres still time to acquire it from your local Apple Store. You have 30 days to do so. Customers who went shopping at the Apple store, had the opportunity to get the AppleCare+ safety net right then and there, but those who acquired the device via carriers like AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, will have to make a trip to the Apple store to insure their device.

Users will have to show up in person in the Apple retail store and have an employee examine the device before giving it the go ahead and thus making it eligible for AppleCare+/. The protection plan comes at a price of $99.

AppleCare+ provides customers with an extra two years of coverage in case of damage or malfunction from the date you first purchased the smartphone. Accidental damaged will be covered up to two times at $50 per incident. This might come in handy for a lot of clumsy people who have a tendency of dropping things. Good news, now if you crack your iPhone on the kitchen marble floor you can successfully have it repaired. In case the damage is really severe, customers will be handled a new shiny object or a refurbished model. Its of course a lot better than just having no iPhone at all. AppleCare+ also provides users with technical support via phone when needed and troubleshooting assistance.

I have best buys insurance 14 dollars a month for any type damage. And no deductable. Takes only a few days to get replaced phone. I'm gonna get that when I get the iphone5.
Seems to be the better deal.

how so? 2 year contract, $14 a month 24 months= $336, applecare gives you a device right there for $200 for 2 replacement phones, if you even need it

Yeah. In the long run. The AppleCare+ is really the way to go. More up front but I know it's come in handy with my i4.

Hmmm, seems like this might be more cost effective than the insurance plan that you get through Verizon. Might be something to consider.

Im with protect your bubble which covers loss and theft (which is the biggest risk to your phone), and you have up to 12 months to take out your policy post purchase

I thought it only covered devices up to a year old. I have noticed that protect my bubble is by far the cheapest a month and they seem to cover every situation. Has anyone used them before? Is it too good to be true?

I have seen that protect my bubble are a lot cheaper than many other insurers. However it says on there website that they insure items up until 1 year old. Does this mean once your item become more than a year old it is no longer insured or does it mean you have up until the item is a year old to insure it. Also has anyone used this company before as it does seem to be too good a deal.

it means you have up to a year to insure your device from the date of purchase. Check out their reviews, they are a very big gadget insurance specialist.
