Following on from todays news that German carrier Deutsche Telekom has started taking pre-order details from its customers for the next iPhone, Boy Genius Report has a story about a report on Japanese Apple website, Macotakara, which says that according to a source in China that wished to remain anonymous, Apples manufacturing chain has already begun manufacturing the iPhone 5, but because the release build of iOS 5 has still not been finalised, the completed devices are not being packaged in their boxes as yet. The report also says that Apple will be announcing the next iPhone in early October, for a release date in late October, which seems to be the consensus of opinion at the moment. According to Macotakara, Foxconn will be responsible for approximately 85% of the production, with Apples newest partner, Pegatron, being responsible for the remaining 15%. Commenting on the story, Boy Genius Report says that Macotakaras track record with Apple stories is mixed, but thats not to say that this story is not accurate of course.
