Iphone 5s unlock help

I wonder if anyone could help, I purchased a phone from ebay that stated it was unlocked, but upon trying various sims I get the sim is not supported on screen msg.

I have checked the imei status and it says
Iphone carrier/network :- unlock
Sim unlock :- true


Where am I going wrong is this phone unlocked, it looks like it was originally locked to Vodafone ireland

How long ago did you buy this iPhone. eBay rules give you 45 days from the end of the listing to file an item not as described dispute. If the seller refuses to give you a refund, eBay will force the refund. PayPal also has its own buyer protection that will refund the buyer of an item not as described.

If you're within the time limit, open the dispute if the seller will not voluntarily refund your payment.

Most carriers will not unlock an iPhone if you're not a current customer.
