Hello,
Anyone aware of this problem. I have tried everything the book recommends, went to my provider, to a repair shop.
Activation connected to iTunes failed, this happened to the iPhone sometimes after I connected it to the iCloud. Concretely, my Iphone was being recharged while driving and roaming was turned off. When I wanted to use my iPHone again, it said it needed activation. (BTW, activation needs Internet access). It had the latest IOS available at the time, iTunes was the latest version.
Symptom : after connecting to iTunes, it takes about an hour to download and install iPhone software. At the end of the process, iTunes shows error (1) which is undocumented any further. Nobody has been able to restart the iPhone. The repair shop mentioned a software bug (the screen is working, iTunes recognizes an iPhone in need of repair , ... I must have repeated the loop about 5 times (different PCs, different Macs, latest iTune version, the iPhone stays blocked.
Proposed solution from the provider (Swisscom) : send it back to Apple to get an exchange : cost 230 SFr (about the same in $). I am quite upset to have to pay to remedy a bug from "Apple".
Any help ? Suggestions ?
Thanks a million,
René the Swiss
