Hi

I have an iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.0.1.

Recently I've been having problems with the battery life. I charge it every day, but sometimes when it gets to about 405 battery, the phone simply turns off. I can turn it back on again, but after a few seconds, the same thing happens again. After several attempts, th ephone simply works as normal with 40% battery.

This has become an almost daily occurance, with sometimes even at around 80% battery the phone simply turns off.

Has anyone ever seen this before, if so, how was this fixed?

Thanks

The iPhone is a MC131B 3GS, if that helps. It's probably about 3 years old. Would you say its probably at the end of it's life?

Thanks

Three years...it does sound like you have put a lot of good and long use to it. I notice my phone's battery getting close to the end of it's life after 2 years, so you have done fairly well going on three. :)

Can you upgrade to a new phone?

Unfortunately not as I am now on a Sim Only contract.

I think I'll have a look at a replacement battery service, see if that works.

If the problem persists, i'll have to get a new phone
