iPhone losing Internet connection.

iPhone 4 running iOS 5 and tethered jailbreak using redsn0w. I keep getting the message in Safari that my phone isn't connected to the Internet. Only way to fix it is reboot, which I can't do unless I'm around a computer. Keeps doing it over and over. Got a friend who isn't jailbroken but is running iOS5 and he's having the same issue but he can reboot. Any ideas?
