Iphone Low Volume

Cannot figure out how to increase the volume on my new Iphone 4S. I can barely hear the caller when receiving a call.

A friend of mine has a similar prob with his..he restored it after backing it up with iTunes and it seems to have corrected itself..strange

Go to settings then hit sounds and then slide the Ringer and Alert slider all the way up. Then push the volume buttons on the side untill the ringer is as maximum volume.
