iPhone Maps compass backward...?

I'm in the maps app and when I hit the location button twice, it says my direction I'm facing is opposite of what the phone really is. What's up with that?

mine kind of has this problem mine says I'm facing about a a quarter turn to far to the right?

Yeah it's showing me a little less than a quarter turn off now. But still, can that not correct that?

It did the same thing on google maps...

Even the new "google maps" is a fail. Not as streamlined as the original that was on iOS 5

I had this problem on ios 5.1.1 with google maps and it was a little less than a quarter turn off.

I'm not talking about the new google maps. I'm talking about iOS 5 google maps.
