Can not get phone to copy pictures from old 6S. Did not change or copy when side by side. Still have not had any success.
This has become a project not fixable. I have searched the web and I don't follow what I see and read. My phone does not
have the things that the site list or it starts on another venue before it tells me what to look for/see/check/have.
Big bummer. (Apple website)

Please provide a bit of information:
Are you using iCloud (iCloud Photo Library or iCloud PhotoStream/Shared Albums) for your images, or do you just keep them on your iPhone?

I‘d recommend backing them up to a USB flash drive or to online storage. That way you don‘t have to copy them to a new iPhone.
If you use iCloud for images, they‘ll sync to a new device automatically, as soon as it‘s connected to Wi-Fi.

I follow your comments. Thanks fro the reply. I can store them in
other different places. I am wanting this new phone to work
properly. This is the reason for the question (s).
I use version and had to take this phone to their store to get it going.
The clerk/agent at this location did a good job getting all other
needed things taken care of, we did not check the photos so it
did not work or swap over. My contacts did transfer.

As you were asked by J.A,, are you using iCloud to upload your photos? If you are, this allows access on all devices.

I am waiting on Apple to send me the o k on the waiting period
to be able to try this. This control method of Apple I think is wrong.
They comment on it being for safety reasons. I doubt if I will ever
buy another Apple phone. They have caused me a lot of grief trying
to get a new phone working.

It’s a toggle in Settings. You don’t need permission to use it.
