iDownload Blog has some very encouraging news for Apple today, which comes via Yankee Group’s survey, which says that Apple is set to surpass Android in terms of US market share by 2015, assuming that Apple’s brand loyalty numbers remain strong. This is because, according to Yankee Group, Android is in fact losing one out of every six customers to other smartphone companies, whereas Apple has what it refers to as a “black hole” ecosystem, with subscribers who never want to leave, such is their brand loyalty. If these trends continue, Yankee Group says that Apple ownership will surpass Android by 2015 in the smartphone market, and will continue its dominance in the tablet market. Yankee Group polled 16,000 consumers over the past year for the survey. iDownload Blog also reminds us of a UBS Research survey from September 2012 that found that almost 9 out of 10 iPhone owners said that they would never buy another smartphone. The Blackberry RIMM market is going to be completely bashed by the iOS market. With iPhones having easier communications between one another with iMessages, more companies are readily transitioning from Blackberries to iPhones and iPads, plus they're a more convenient world phone as opposed to the Blackberry, plus better computing and usage capabilities that can be relevant to employees. Plus the whole FaceTime and Skype comm has a better role in iOS compared to Blackberries.

Blackberries are bad handsets, it's just that they can't keep up with the transitioning and evolution of the market.

I can't see this happening, I don't even think I could type all my reasons out on a touchscreen lol.

If you get the Mac app "Type2Phone, you can use your Mac as a BlueTooth keyboard for your iPhone/iPad, then you don't need to type on a touchscreen.

I have only had my iPhone (a 5) for about 2 months BUT at this point I do not think I will buy another ..

Android to me at least, is much more flexible plus the apps were cheaper and easier to get my hands on then using the Android Market (Google Play) then using the apple store... I hoped I would like it better the longer I used the iPhone but up until this morning that has honestly not happened...

Different stokes for different folk I guess...If you guys like the iPhone that is fine with me...

I have and love both iOS and Android - especially the latest and greatest Android. The fact still remains that for the majority of people that only care about simplicity and seamless integration, iOS is still top dog, and that's really who Apple is focused on. Even if this story doesn't come true, there will always be a segment of the population, and a pretty large one IMHO, that values Apple's way of doing things over the other OEM's using Android.

I personally think if Apple sold an Apple TV box at a discount to everyone that buys an iPhone or iPad, they'd suck even more people in. The integration between devices and Apple TV is simply a great experience.

Personally I feel that ics and jb are the easiest OS's on a phone for beginners, but that's just personal subjective experience. Touch wiz on my note 2 may be the easiest OS I have ever experienced, however some people may think iOS is a tad bit simple, I just don't see it. One thing is for sure, google and iOS both need to upgrade its game or another rival is going to split in.
