Iphone stuck in boot loop wont restore?

basically my iphone 4s crashed today and is now stuck in boot loop, i tried to restore it using itunes but i keep getting errors. I was told because my phone is an 8gb, it is best not to upgrade to ios 8. how can i restore to ios 7.1.2?

I'm afraid that the signing window for iOS 7.1.2 closed last Friday. The only iOS version that you can now restore to is iOS 8.0.2.
