iPhone suddenly has more free memory but I didn't delete anything?

Hi everyone!

New member, please be gentle lol

I was checking the free memory on my iPhone like I do everyday and for some reason it has jumped from 11mb free to 578. I haven't deleted anything so have no clue why this has happened and now
I'm terrified the phone has deleted some of my pictures or videos. I have a lot so it's hard to spot if any are missing but I know I didn't delete any myself.

Is there any other explanation for why my phone had such a sudden increase in available memory?

Something running in the background stopped running. The "Free Memory" is actually your iPhone's RAM... not available storage space.
