BGR writes that despite all evidence pointing to the fact that the iPhone X is still selling extremely well, supply chain sources have told DigiTimes that component orders for the iPhone X slowed somewhat in November and are set to drop further in December. However, the iPhone X is still expected to sell very strongly in the first and second quarters of 2017. One possible explanation for this situation could be that Apple’s manufacturing partners have done such a good job of increasing iPhone X production that Apple has plenty of stock available for the holiday period and therefore is able to slow down its component orders for now.
The sources in Apple’s upstream component supply chain went on to say that because demand for certain iPhone X components had slowed recently, the supply chain was worried that Apple might reduce its iPhone X shipment target for the first quarter of 2018. Apparently Apple’s iPhone X component orders were approximately 30% lower than had been previously forecast.
