Is it possible to completely remove an app?

Hello,

I know how to delete apps. However, if I go to App Store / Updates / Purchased / Not on this Phone then I can see the apps that I've deleted. They have the "cloud" icon which I can click on to re-download them.

Is there a way to prevent this so that apps which are deleted do not show up in the Purchased section?

There are two way to hide purchased but non-downloaded apps in the AppStore. The first one is to hide them individually using iTunes on your computer.

The second is via the phone itself (and only works if you have "Family Sharing" turned on. If it's on, go to the AppStore and the "Updates" tab. Tap on purchases and, when you see an app you wish to hide, just swipe to the left.

You can still see the download cloud when browsing the store and you can still re-download them for free/without inputting your password. But, they will be from from your list.

While it's not possible to remove apps from your purchased list it is possible to hide them. You have to do it through iTunes on a Mac or PC. Here are the instructions. iTunes Store Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support

The hidden apps will not show up anywhere unless you go back into iTunes and unhide them.
