Is it possible to make the delete button work properly with google apps hosted gmail

The subject says it all. This has been ongoing problem for YEARS. Has anyone come up with a fix or work around? It is ridiculously annoying to have to come home and delete 100 messages I already saw over the course of the day and know are worthless...

In case you are unaware the delete button archives the message instead of actually deleting it... super annoying.

Go into the email settings, select your google account, should be towards the bottom: "archive messages". Set it to "no"

Correction: it's the "mail, contacts, calendar" submenu. Then archive messages "off"

I am not seeing what you are describing... if I turn this off is it going to screw up saving my sent messages or archiving the messages I want to archive?

I cant find it. Which tab is it? general? accounts? I dont see anything named what you are saying.

Go to your setting menu. It's right under "general", well, on my phone anyways... As far as archiving, I'm not sure.
