After all the months of speculation, the long wait is over, and Apple’s newest iPhone has finally arrived in stores worldwide. As the world wakes up on September 21, we’ve already seen several key territory launches, starting with Australia, and then on to the Europe and the UK. As far as Australia is concerned, AppleInsider writes that the world’s first iPhone 5 was sold by the Sydney Apple Store, as The Wall Street Journal writes that hundreds of Australians lined up to buy the new phones. There’s even a debate as to who actually bought the world’s first officially released iPhone 5, with the WSJ claiming it was a phone reseller (of course!), and CNET saying that it was a brother and sister (see video at top of post).
In the UK, the Huffington Post writes that there were big queues outside Apple’s flagship store in Regent’s Street, as well as the gorgeous Covent Garden store. Some of them had been there for days, and many were queuing to sell their places and give the money that they made to charity, which is a pretty cool thing to do.
