Cnet reports that the US International Trade Commission has made an initial ruling upholding Apples complaint that HTC has violated two of its patents. According to the ITC law judges initial ruling, HTC has infringed two of the 10 patents that Apple had filed complaints about in March 2010. There is still a final ruling to come from the ITC, and should HTC lose just one of the two cases, then theres the possibility that HTC products could be banned from being imported into the US. In a statement, HTC said it would appeal the ITCs findings:
In response, Apples spokesperson reiterated Steve Jobs words from the original filing of the complaint: "HTC will vigorously fight these two remaining patents through an appeal before the ITC commissioners who make the final decision," said Grace Lei, general counsel for HTC. "This is only one step of many in these legal proceedings.
