Timing was perfect today. I went home from work for lunch and FedEx showed up while I was eating!!! While I used an iPhone at work for about 6 months (my last day there is in 5 days) I now own my first iPhone. I got the Black 32GB. Have it pretty much set up how I want it already but have to sync my music tonight when I get home and my tones. Hitting te store first on the way home to pick up a case. I think I am going to go with the Otterbox Commuter. Not sure I might see what else they have.

Any idea how accurate the usage statistics are? I just saw they are in there and just moved from unlimited data to a 2GB plan. I think I should be ok but never really paid attention to how much data different apps use. I plan on doing Facetime with my kids once in a while during my soon to be 1 hr commute on the train and not sure how much data that uses. You know how it is when you get a new "toy"...you play around with it a lot at first.

Sorry, Danimal--I can't answer your question. I will be in the same boat as you when I get my iPhone. My first one. However, there are many informative members here that will be able to help you soon.

Good luck! :)

The iPhone has a pretty decent "Cellular Data Usage" display. So you should be able to track you usage and compare it to what your provider shows.

As for Facetime over cellular, lets go with a round number of 3 Megabytes per one minute. That means you will chew thru 2 Gigabytes with 11 hours of Facetime. And it is possible that it could be as high as 4 Megabytes per minute and run you out in 8 hours.

So I would pay really close attention to the "Cellular Data Usage" and remember to reset it each month when your time frame rolls over.

Thanks for the replies. Skull One thanks for the info. I will definitely pay attention to the usage and probably won't use FT that much. Although I did just try it out now with my kids while my wife was driving. At the end the kids were fighting over the phone to say good bye :-)

I FaceTime with my grand kids and they are always fighting over who holds the phone until something shiny comes along and then I have to have them corralled back to the phone ;)
