MacRumors reports that the iTunes revamp promised by iTunes head Eddy Cue in February is on the way, having failed to appear as expected in OS X 10.11.4. According to MacRumors’ sources, as well as the screenshots provided by those sources, iTunes 12.4 will have some notable improvements on the previous iTunes interface.
The redesigned dropdown media picker lets you navigate between Music, Movies, TV Shows, and other content, and replaces the current navigation icons. You can also customize the new menu, just as you could with the old menu. You can also use the forward and back buttons to navigate between the picks.
The menus in iTunes 12.4 have been simplified, with the aim of making them easier to use via new navigation options.
The mini player will have its Up Next feature moved to the right side of the player, making it easier to see.
MacRumors’ sources expect the update to arrive in the next few weeks, possibly later May or early June.
