Itunes restarts itself repeatedly

Hopefully this has not been covered already. I searched the forums and didn't find any similar topics.

I purchased a 4S and upgraded iTunes to version 10 (10.5.0.142). Everything is working fine except iTunes restarts within a few minutes after being closed if the iPhone is turned on, even though the iPhone is not connected to the PC. It does not restart if the phone is turned off. I have iCloud backup enabled, I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, and there are no pop-up errors or other dialog boxes--just a very persistent copy of iTunes! Is this a bug or is there a setting that I am overlooking?

You need to disable Open iTunes when connected to Iphone.

Thanks. I thought there was a setting somewhere but I had forgotten that the phone had to be physically connected before that menu item was available.
