Ok , I have done the greenpoison jailbreaking and everything is fine until the end and it freezes on the reboot. it has the picture of the itunes with the usb picture on the phone and does nothing. I have tried this several times and keep ending up with the same result. I have tried greenp, snow and etc. nothing is working. i have to restore it back every time. any suggestion or fixes for this issue. it looks like it working until the boot up . it just will not boot.

I might be wrong, but i'm 99% sure that greenpois0n hasn't worked since 4.2.6

This is probably your problem.

Are you keeping it plugged up while it's rebooting?

i just updated to 4.2.10 so when someone finds out which program has the most reliable untethered jb let me know

There is no untethered jailbreak for 4.2.10 and most likely there never will be. iOS5 will be released soon and since Apple finally patched i0n1cs untether exploit that means they would have to find and burn a whole new exploit which would be pointless for a firmware that doesn't add anything(only blocks untethered jailbreak).

You will have to wait until iOS5 gets an untethered jailbreak. Until then you can use this iOS 4.2.10 tethered jailbreak tutorial

If your getting a 1013 error and it shows the itunes image on the iphone. You are restored correctly but failed a final verification. I got this a few times and used greenpoison to finish the process.
Simply download greenpoison, and run it. It should make the screen black with white text scrolling but should end up with the greenpoison installer icon. Depending what version your on, (I downgraded back to 4.2.8) you can choose to use jailbreakme.com to install cydia instead of greenpoison. But us gp to get it to finish the jailbreak process. A 1013 error means you got a full restore and just need to "finish" the process.

I do hope this helps as it was an issue for me until I figured this out and was able to finish my jailbreak a few times over.
Good luck

EDIT: After reading again, I noticed you said you tried gp. What firmware version are you on? Do you have your shsh on file in cydia? maybe try downgrading? I accidently went to 4.2.9 and had issues until I downgraded back to 4.2.8 and had np after.

I first used redsnow v. 0.9.6b4 to do the jailbreak on a fresh restore. it ends with the 1013 error, I then use gp to finish the process.

Is there anyway to create the SHSH blob? so those of us that upgraded to 4.2.10 can downgrade to a pre-4.2.9 version?

No, there is no way to create an SHSH blob. The blobs are generated based on your device, firmware and ECID. Each SHSH is unique to each device and firmware and there is no way to generate them.

I tried the redsn0w jailbreak and it is doing the same exact thing to me. The jailbreak itself goes fine but then when I turn the phone off and try the tethered reboot, it freezes either on the pineapple or the Apple logo. And then the only way to get past it is to enter recovery mode and restore the phone and start over, which I have done 3 times now and it does the same thing every time. I know this doesn't help solve the problem, but I figured you should know that you're not alone in your reboot problems. I'm going to give up & wait for whatever untethered jailbreak may eventually come out. :(

There is no working jailbreak for 4.2.10. Whilst you can apply the jailbreak, as soon as a reboot is required the phone will freeze and cannot be rebooted properly, even using the correct tethered method. This is covered in our sticky here - http://www.iphoneforums.net/forum/iphone-jailbreaking-17/jailbreaking-methods-iphone-18519/
If you don't have saved SHSH Blobs for a previous version of IOS you are out of luck I'm afraid. Your only option will be to restore stock 4.2.10 and live without a jailbreak for a while...
