jailbreaking lead to bad esn?

hey guys, im really familiar wit jailbreaking and what it does considering my itouch has been jailbroken a million times by me but i currently am upgrading to an iphone for verizon and i really want to jailbreak it, i just wanted to make sure first that i dont lock it. i have seen countless phones on ebay saying bad esn and i was just wondering if there is any chance that verizon will lock my phone or give it a bad esn if i jailbreak it. if not, how does a iphone get a bad esn?

Jailbreaking an iPhone 4 wont cause it to have a bad esn. Bad esn numbers are caused due to iPhone being stolen or having bills attached to it.

thanks guys, i reallly appreciate the help. i knew that lost or stolen was what caused verizon to lock them but while loooking for an iphone on ebay there was about 100 every page with bad esn's so i figured there had to be somethin else causes verizon to lock all these phones up. thanks again though!
