Location Services icon

iPhone 5S. Location services works but icon is missing in notification bar. Tried rebooting (no help) and Reset (no help). Any ideas ? Thanks.

The icon only appears when an app is using the location services. On my iPhone 6 I have found this to be rare - sometimes the icon is present for only a second or two.

Thanks for your reply. However previous to 2 days ago my iPhone 5s had the icon lit continually from the second I turned on the Location Services. Not intermittently. My Ipad Mini is the same, lit continually. It was a helpful reminder to turn it off when done.
