I am curious what you mean by "get on with the cydia way of doing things"

Never heard that before...

Lol....the respring this respring that, not organised very well, I just didn't like it, and my phone didn't really run very well either, it kept crashing!! Just didn't think it was for me.... Although I do like customising like I'll wait abit until I know that it runs better. Or maybe I just didn't jb it properly.....I don't know.

You didn't do something properly. Restoring from an iTunes backup causes problems too (besides installing conflicting or incompatible tweaks).

You must have installed something that was not compatible or conflicted with another tweak.

As I have said many times before......:

You cannot install "anything" from Cydia. Some tweak are for older devices, some for iPads only, iPhones only, iPod Touch only.

You MUST check compatibility.

Your phone was crashing because you didn't check compatibility with your iOS version, device model for whatever tweak you installed.

You MUST research a tweak before installing one.

If you just start installing things without checking compatibility/conflicts...you are bound to have Problems.

And don't install anything that does not state that it is iOS 5 compatible.

Thanks for explaining. Yes the necessity to respring is different from when you install apps. Installing tweaks Actually changes the os workings and therefore requires a sort of restart for them to function. It really cannot work any other way.

Ok, maybe I get someone to do the jb for me next time, and do abit more research for it!! Thanks for the info.

Respringing is awesome.

It fixes problems...and helps you apply changes to the UI.

Respringing is the process of restarting the "SpringBaord". The SpringBoard is your home screen.

It is very convenient. As it basically restarts the device...without actually rebooting it. Very very very useful feature of Jailbreaking.
