Lost iphone 3g

Hi I lost my iphone last night and I'm wondering is there anyway to track it? I can ring the phone but it rings out in voice mail. I have no tracking software installed on it. Is there any software that will track my gps if i typed in my number or something? thanks

Find my iphone from the app store lets you track send messages block/delete anythign on your phone and uses google maps to track where it is and you can send messages or make it beep... i forget what firmware it became free though, was it 4.2.1?
