Lost iphone 5

One of the phones I am working on has lost phone lock with a contact number to call if found. I would like to return this phone to it owner or repair it and return it back in service. The phone has a bad battery will not take a charge and a cracked screen. I have traced the owners email and address. If he does not want the phone back what does he need to do to remove all the locks so I can repair the phone and put it back in services. I would like to send him step by step to make it easy as possible Thanks James

If you haven't already done so, contact the owner and offer to return the phone to him. Don't do anything to the phone without the owner's express permission, preferably in writing.

You could also turn the phone into an office of the owner's cellular carrier. If you can't contact the owner, you could also turn the phone in to local law enforcement. They could trace the phone number and contact him directly.
