Waited so long to jb my iphone on ios6 now its done I am loving it but i have some help needed ref my ipad its still running 5.1.1 there is some stuff on there which I do not want to lose ait has took me a long time to find and sort them ( I use these files with Imame4all ) for me to keep these files safe is the easiest way to use open ssh and idile copying them to the computer , then when re jailbroken on ios 6 transfer folders files back across ?

That's the idea. If you have PKGBackup, you can use that to backup your data as well.

Oh that sounds good willerz that gives me an extra option to look at, Now I have a real big problem, this is the first I have seen this



I have no packages in any cydia sources so cannot grab openssh or pkg, any ideas, oh no that looks nasty? Help please :-(

Ok perhaps i have found the remedy for this by deleting repos i do not use , hopefully this is the case i will post later

It would seem i have answered my own question and infact the above is correct, so im gonna upgrade from 5.1.1 to 6.1 jb evasion, firstly i presume all is well to do this on ipad 3 secondly only just d/l pkgbackup and it says it full proof but how do i select the apps i want to keep ? If i recieve no answers i may just start fom scratch anyway but i gave managed to keep my mame files by using ssh an winscp so thats good.

If you are going from 5.1.1 to 6.1 I would start from scratch. The only time I would use PKGBackup to restore would be if I was restoring to the same firmware. If you try and use PKGBackup between major firmware revisions, it usually ends up being more trouble than it's worth due to compatibility issues.

How could i find out if idva works on 6.1 ? Maybe a silly question but have no idea whom to ask ? Anyone ?

Install it and open it, if it crashes, it doesn't work
