reviews from Magnetic Baby Review – The Gravity Will Pull You In | iPhone App/Game Reviews, iPad App/Game Reviews, Apple, Mac, iOS, and App News At AppleNApps

Super Mario Galaxy was really an ingenious game as it added gravitational pull to the traditional platformer. Every platform was a planet with its own gravity that pulled Mario to it, and in the iOS world, Soosiz used this gameplay very well. Magnetic Baby is a new gravity based game where you use the magnetic pull of different planets to roll your character from planet to planet. In every level you try to collect the three stars, and reach the damsel in distress. There are 63 levels across three worlds to roll and fly through, and you’ll need ALL your platforming and physics skills for each level.

There are three control methods you can switch between with tilt, drag, or virtual d-pad that will let you find the match for you. The game isn’t just jumping between the planets because your character can only jump so high, which means you will need to build momentum. You roll around the planet to pick up speed, and then jump at just the right moment to fly through space to reach the next planet. More often than not, you’ll need to jump off one planet, then use the gravity of the second planet to swing on to a third planet.
Your character careens into space flinging around the planets, and collecting the stars which is the most challenging aspect. You can most likely just pass a level relatively easily, but collecting all the stars is quite another challenge. As you advance through the levels you’ll move beyond just dealing with gravity to working with spinning galaxies, warp holes, and spiky obstacles. Every single level offers up a unique challenge, and you’ll need to think before you act. Making it through all 63 levels will give you plenty of bang for your buck, and the game does a good job of making you want to compete them all.
Magnetic Baby ($0.99, iPhone / $0.99, iPad) provides innovative gameplay, and takes full advantage of an iOS device. The game offers plenty of challenge, but never discourages the user, or prevents them from having a good time. Magnetic Baby is a should buy for only $0.99, which is a great addition to the App Store, and your app collection.
