Magnetic mounts

I have a "Nato Smart Mount" which has a metal disk the attaches to the back of the case or phone and sticks to a strong magnet attached to the mount. My question is will the magnet damage my phone?

It could, if attached directly to the iPhone. It might be better to use a case for the iPhone and attach the magnet to the case instead of directly to the iPhone. A magnet attached this way shouldn't cause any harm to the iPhone.

The iPhone isn't magnetic so you have to use a piece of metal. I have never had an issue with cellphones and magnets, and have used magnet mounts for 15 years.

Magnets can affect the compass and in some cases the auto-focus rear camera.
