Mailbox behavior?

I have yahoo account and I retrieve the mail manually. When I open the inbox, sent, bulk or trash folder there's a message that says "load more messages and x amount of total messages then 0 unread that flashes for a second then disappear. I reset network settings, removed and reinstall yahoo account but it's still showing up. Right now the message reads 23 total messages and 0 unread and keep adding up. Is there anything in the settings I can adjust? I saw this behavior in my 3GS but not as often. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

I think if you go into the mail settings and have it display more messages you won't end up having to load more every time you view them.
