messaging (SMS) issue

My iPhone 4 has recently ceased sending return text messages to one particular number - it receives them, and I can send them if I type in the phone number, but it won't send them as a reply. It used to send them OK to this number.... I'm perplexed. It started when I was overseas, but I am back on deck in Australia now.
