My husband and I are getting new phones - we currently have HTC droid phones - HTC Rezound and HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon - these are 4g phones and are speedy and we like that but bored with the rest of the phone. Ready for a change. We do a lot of internet browsing, emailing, videos, pictures, appointments and navigation. I know this might be the wrong forum to ask but - which phone to go with based on our needs? We have played with both the Iphone and Razr Maxx and like both but torn on which way to go!

Well this is an iPhone forum, so pretty much everyone here is going to tell you to go with the iPhone. Up to your really. They both have everything you need to perform said task.

does the iphone have navigation and can it hold multiple gmail accounts?

If Navigation is in your top 3 items, then STICK WITH ANDROID. No joke.

I started with Android and switched to iOS 12 months ago. I left Android because it kept failing me. But coming to iOS was not easy. Took me well over 3 months to adjust. Mainly because iOS is a strict, closed and very controlled environment. You can't change the color of things. You can't change the layout of things.

But....

What you do get is a very solid OS. An App market that, while costing more, is the best on the planet. A product that simply works without question. One that has never failed to live up to my expectations of being a phone first and a micro computer second.

I could spend an hour typing up all the things wrong with Android and iOS. But the reality is, you would be moving to a 3.5" screen, 3G speeds and closed ecosystem. Personally, I wouldn't switch back to Android if I was paid to.

Yes it has a maps app (which honestly is not as good as Droid,,,,but useable)

And you can add multiple account from anything...Gmail, Yahoo!, etc. doesn't matter how many. No limit. Well...mate idk, but I have 5 including 2 Yahoo! accounts and 2 Gmail accounts.

Ok and one more question! We have itunes now so we would be uploading all songs to new iphone - were thinking of just going with 16gb - will this be enough memory to hold around 300 songs?

300 * 6 MB = 1.8 GB. Useable space on a 16GB iPhone is about 14.1 GB. So you will have plenty of room left.

Any plenty with apps, pictures, etc? Just making sure because I know you cannot change and add more memory with an iphone.

Yes.....16 gig is a lot of space, you can fit way more then 300 songs on 16 gig iPhone.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to space I assure you.

I started out on an iPhone 4 16GB. Found out that wasn't enough for me with the apps and photos I wanted to have available at all times. So I upgraded my iPhone to the 4S and 32GB. If you plan to take a lot of Photos and Videos the 8 mega pixel camera averages about 2.5 megs per photo. I have well over 2000 photos between what I take and my wife takes (syncing thru iCloud and the Photo Stream). And the videos are huge because they are HD. Something to consider.

I think my apps alone take around 12 gigs of space.

Same here. I too considered the Razr Maxx but went with the 4S due to its rock solid O/S coupled with its ease of use/simplicity. In addition, the current Android phones are just getting too big for my liking! So far, I love the 4S and am glad I made the move!

I just switched to an IPhone 4S three days ago, from there back I had always used android now i see the trash that I had been playing with. I can not believe how fast the iPhone switches menus and such videos and pictures are astounding I am just great full that I made the switch.

I can see ditching a TB, but I think the Rezound is a better phone than the Razr.

I left the Galaxy Nexus for the 4s. Despite the smaller screen, I've been extremely happy. iOS is very smooth and stable. For the first time in awhile I am very content with my phone.

I am jail broken and this has made this platform as open as Android. As for navigation, there are several third party apps available. Some are free and some paid.

My vote is for the 4s.
