Apple’s iOS Passbook App is becoming very popular these days, and AppleInsider says that yet another business has today jumped on board, with the Major League of Baseball (MLB) announcing that it will be increasing the number of stadiums where you can use digital tickets via Passbook to 13, with 9 new ballparks added, namely the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates. These teams join the initial Passbook teams, which are the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals. And that’s not all, it seems, as there are another three teams waiting in the wings to announce, according to the MLB. Fans are able to visit the MLB’s At Bat app to buy their tickets and then store them in Passbook. Commenting on Passbook, MLB CEO of Advanced Media, Bob Bowman, said that iOS users represent around 70% of users for the free version of At Bat, although he did go on to say that this figure was “shrinking” with the rise of Android. In contrast though, as AppleInsider points out, Bowman said that the paid content for the app, which costs $20, has 85% iOS user uptake.[/FONT]
