MMS Messages Choking When Sent?

Have been playing with the MMS function on my 3G this afternoon and when trying to send a photo to an email address the message hangs and doesn't send. Is this usual?

I'm not using ATT's 3G Network but have a local WiFi network that I have access to enabled.

Ha! Looks like I figured it out. I turned my network back on and then was able to send a MMS to am email address.

Of course with the WiFi enabled I can easily acres my web based email accounts so it's not critical.
