Hey guys, Steve here. I've lurked for about a year and figured I might as well join.. I'm interested in the metal bumper cases and that is what "re" led me to the site.. hopefully I can find enough info here to guide me in the right direction.

Welcome Apple... About that "metal" bumper case -- I'd be wary. Metal transfers shock, rubber absorbs it. But then, I haven't seen them, and they may have that metal thing figured out..

Check out the Mophie case. It's a case with a back up battery built in... Pricey but well worth the money for piece of mind when working long hours or heavy use.
